MEET KYLE SHORT

Kyle is a second-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, academy owner in Fort Worth, Texas, and a high school teacher. Training, competition, education, and mentorship all shape his approach to helping gym owners.
His journey began by training alongside his brother. Sessions moved from a bedroom to a garage, then grew into an academy. Building that business brought lessons in coaching, leadership, and the everyday demands of running a gym.
MATWORKS grew from a desire to share those lessons: help other owners avoid preventable mistakes, develop their teams, and build an academy that works for their students and their lives.
